Bob Golic is a former NFL defensive tackle, renowned television actor, radio personality, and sports commentator. His NFL career spanned 14 impressive seasons, where he showcased his skills with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Raiders. Bob’s versatility extended beyond the field as he later became a beloved on-screen personality, best known for his role as Mike Rogers on Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Today, he hosts a popular radio talk show on WNIR in Akron, Ohio, where he continues to connect with fans and share his insights.

His Story
Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio, into a family with deep ties to sports. His father, Louis “Bob” Golic, played professionally in the Canadian Football League, inspiring young Bob to pursue athletics passionately. At St. Joseph’s High School, Bob excelled in both football and wrestling, capturing the Ohio State Heavyweight Wrestling Championship in 1975.
With a scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, Bob played for the Fighting Irish and won a national football championship in 1977. He earned unanimous All-American honors and was a two-time All-American wrestler with a collegiate record of 54–4–1. Drafted by the Patriots in 1979, Bob began his NFL career, transitioning from linebacker to nose tackle and becoming a Pro Bowl player during his time with the Browns.
After football, Bob embraced acting, hosting, and sports commentary, including memorable stints with NBC, TNN, and Channel 4 in the UK. His community work and media presence continue to make a difference today.

Former NFL Player Bob Golic Joins Legends of the LPGA Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament to Support Grateful Hearts Association
Monticello, NY – Football legend, radio host, and actor Bob Golic is set to join the 2025 Legends of the LPGA Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament as a notable player and on-air talent for the event’s streaming and broadcast. This inaugural event will take place from June 26-28, 2025, at the Monster Golf Club at Resorts World Catskills, bringing together sports legends and celebrities to support Grateful Hearts Association.

Golic, who has built a dynamic career on and off the field, played as a defensive tackle in the NFL for 14 seasons with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and Los Angeles Raiders. His charisma and expertise have made him a staple in sports media, currently hosting a popular talk show on WNIR originating from Akron, Ohio. Additionally, Golic’s acting roles, such as Saved by the Bell: The College Years, have solidified his place in the public eye.
